The Richmond Hill Model Airplane Club, also known as the Richmond Hill Model Airplane Group Inc, was founded in 1976 by a group of aviation enthusiasts to foster, enhance, assist, aid, engage in and develop the advancement of model aeronautics.
The club is a Charter Member of MAAC [Model Aeronautics Association of Canada] and membership in MAAC is mandatory if you want to fly your aircraft at any of our events, indoors or outdoors, as it provides you with the necessary liability insurance that you are required to carry.
For many years we had a flying field on 19th Ave in Richmond Hill but that field and the whole area is now under development for housing.
Our plans for a new field location have unfortunately fallen through and we are once again looking for a new field location in York Region. If you know of a field that might be suitable please contact anyone on the Executive. See the "Contact Us" menu item.
We are currently flying indoors with various small electric planes from October through to April in the gymnasium of a local high school . There is more information and the schedule is posted under the "Flying Days" menu. Please note the additional indoor fly day on March 24th.
RHMAC membership runs from September 1st to August 31st and is renewed each year. For more information about memberships, follow the "Membership" menu item. Please note that new membership is CLOSED for this season. Please check back with us next September.
